Car hire
You may hire cars to drive, chauffeur-driven cars, scooters or bikes in Goa. Make sure that you have your driving license with you. If you are of a nervous disposition, then this is not the place for you to even attempt to drive. If you thought that the French/Italians where a bit crazy, then you need to see this place. You may get used to it but get ready for it. It's actually quite skilful. You may find car hire not worth the effort as a chauffeur driven car is cheaper at about 750Rps a day.
Taxi Vans, Rickshaws, Car's and Motorcycle taxis
All are readily available but rickshaws are less than half the price of a taxi and about half as comfortable but they do feel twice as authentic and fun.
Buses
The main bus company is government run Kadamba and although not comfortable gets you where you are going for about 4Rps, depending on length of your journey.
Private Buses
There are lots of local buses that shoot around all over Goa for 4Rps and they do not stop at just bus stops. They stop just about anywhere, so there are not any transport problems in Goa.
Motor Bikes
Goa is one of the few places in India where hiring motorbikes is cheap and fun. Most people do not wear crash helmets, though they are available if you choose.
This is not a good place to learn but you will have lots of fun. You will have a choice of bikes like old Endfields, Honda, Yamaha, Vespa or the gearless scooters, for less than 500Rps a day during peak seasons and less than 350Rps a day during off peak seasons. These prices may vary according to places, length of rental, seasons and the condition of bikes.
Pedal bikes
Pedal bikes are available but they are the Indian version single gear ones. Mountain bikes are available as well, in major towns and beach resorts for about 40Rps a day.
Boats
An interesting way to travel around Goa is by ferry. If you are travelling by foot, you go free on some, and 4Rps for motor cycles.
